AGM 2018

*update May 16* –  President’s report from this year’s AGM included below**

AGM Announcement

Fire crackling in the wood stove, families warming up over hot chocolate after a brisk cross-country ski or snowshoe, standing out on the deck in the spring sun watching the start of a race in the stadium…can you imagine it?

This and more is on the agenda! And skiers – we need a few more hands on deck.

If you enjoy the beautifully designed and groomed trails at Beatton Provincial Park for cross country skiing and want to contribute your ideas and energy to help improve our facilities, prepare to host the BC 2020 Winter Games, and grow our skier population, please come out to hear more of what is planned for the next few years!

Brief AGM to start at 7pm followed by presentation on what’s in store for the club in coming years, including the 2020 Winter Games, proposed stadium and day lodge, programming and lessons, social events and more.

We are looking for creative and hardworking individuals willing to give a little precious time to help with sponsorship and fundraising plans (Banff Mountain Film Festival anyone?), learning how to help out at a ski race (2020 Winter Games), promoting winter fun and physical fitness with a like minded group of people. Come find out more on May 16 at the Northern Lights College. Or see whiskeyjacknordic.ca for more information and how to contact us.

The pay is terrible, but the rewards will be great!

AGM Highlights!

Excerpt from President’s report:

“With all our obvious successes this year there have been many busy beavers behind the

scenes who are still working to make the next steps happen. Our future projects include:

  • Constructing a stadium area to meet programming needs and to host the 2020 BC Winter Games;
  • Expand the snow shoe trail to include a short loop for those not wanting a 2 hour trek;
  • Improved signage for snowshoers;
  • fundraising for a day lodge and accessible pit toilet;
  • researching better grooming equipment to augment our sleds and packers,
  • Host an Officials Level 1 course in the fall;
  • Host an NCCP Coaching course Level 1 to train more coaches”
